0mnis0und and Lamaat is up to it again, banging out tasty electronic 8 bit grooves. Thanks to Chris Peck for setting up the event and having us play. You rock!
VTG had a great time playing in LA at the Good Hurt last Saturday. Here are some pics my buddy Joe “is Jazz” Rauen took for us at the gig. We had an amazing time at the show, and the after party was a rad! Special thanks to all of our friends that made it out. You’re the ones that make it all possible.
Time to grind it. The “Bud Grindin Anna” Theme Song was another one I created early on in my theme song career. It was for my friend Anna Suzuki. The song incorporates some live guitar, a little bit of sequencing, and a sexy groove. Her personality is magnetic and intoxicating, so I hoped to harness this energy into her theme song. I threw in a few inside jokes, some tasty background vocals, and a whole lotta love. Without further ado, here is the second installment of the theme song blog “Bud Grindin Anna”.
We got another great review from our 12 galaxies show last Wednesday! Big thanks to Adrian for coming out to review us. Geographer will be at Stanford’s Radio Station KZSU on Wednesday April 30th for our next gig. Tune in around 6p to catch our hour long performance and interview.
This is the theme song that started it all. I remember it was a late night. I was hanging out with my friend and Geographer band member Nathan Blaz, and thought about how cool it would be if people had their own custom theme songs. A song that would capture the very essence of their awesomeness. Back in the day, Nate’s nick name was “Nasty Nate”. I used his Nasty Nate moniker to quickly conjure ideas for his theme, and the rest is history. I decided to set some limitations on the composition, which would inevitably become loose guidelines for how future themes were created. I gave myself between 60-90 seconds for the duration of the song, included a strong hook/refrain, and made the song aurally embody the baine of that person’s existance (through my eyes and ears of course). And now, for your listening pleasure, the one that started it all, the “Nasty Nate” theme song. Enjoy.
I’ve been receiving a lot of requests to blog about the theme songs I have created over the years. The select few peeps that I’ve composed themes songs for have had a profound impact on my life. They have helped make me who I am today. I am fortunate that our paths have crossed in this crazy world, and what better way to show my appreciation than a theme song right? I’ll start towards the beginning. Check back in the next few days to see how it all started. Until then…
This show was bad ass.
